10th Anniversary Dinner

Redbridge Faith Forum’s amazing ten year milestone was celebrated on Thursday 3rd October with a magnificent meal at Sahan’s restaurant (highly recommended for all to try!).

A grand gathering of 69 was joined by Deputy Mayor Mrs Tania Solomon, her consort Mr David Solomon, MP Mike Gapes, Leader of the council Cllr Keith Prince, other councillors and Faith/community leaders/representatives to mark the achievements of the Forum over the ten years of its existence.

Jacquie Grieve current Chair of the Forum’s Management Committee paid tribute to previous Chairs Rev. Stephen Normanton and Cllr Filly Maravala for their work and commitment. She highlighted some of the Forum’s achievements in bringing together faith communities in Redbridge for interfaith dialogue, cooperation, consultation and united activities; as well as the outreach to other voluntary and community groups and close working with statutory providers.

The Forum has faced many difficult challenges over the years which have been met with resolve and determination by the management committee, amazing staff and a wonderful army of volunteers. Particular thanks was given to the staff Saira Yakub and Shamshia Ali for their resolve, dedication and sheer determination in helping the Forum move onwards and upwards.

The Forum is now an intrinsic part of Redbridge life which all the speakers at the celebration commended with hopes for continuation and another 10 years ~ at least!
