Women’s Interfaith Workshop Feasts Festivals & Holy Days
On 12th November the Women’s Group met at the Singh Sabha London East Gurdwara, in Seven Kings. Parminder Kaur Kondral and a group of Sikh women gave a warm welcome and introduced the main topic for the session ‘Feasts, Festivals and Holy Days ~ What do we celebrate?’ by telling the group of the main Sikh Festivals. Women from different faiths then spoke with enthusiasm about some of their major faith festivals and celebrations. This addressed many misconceptions about which were the major festivals and what was also a cultural tradition but not necessarily a religious teaching. Our generous hosts fed us well with pakoras, biscuits and tea as well as inviting all to join them in the langar for a most welcome vegetarian meal. To view full report click here
