SITC marks what would have been Duke of Edinburgh 100th birthday – 10th June 2021

I wish to share the news below from our running club (Sikhs In The City - SITC - www.sikhsinthecity.org) that is also based in Redbridge.

 

SITC has organised a 2km walk for 50 people starting at 6:00pm on Thursday 10 June 2021. The total distance that will be covered by the walkers will therefore be 100km. This is to mark what would have been HRH Duke of Edinburgh's 100th birthday.

 

Each participant will receive a Certificate of Achievement and be invited to make a donation of £5.00 towards the London Borough of Redbridge's chosen charity Redbridge Carers Support Service (RCSS)

 

As Her Majesty's representative, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant has kindly agreed to attend the event.

 

Date and Time - Thursday 10 June - 6:00pm

Location Start & Finish - Junction of Roding Lane South with Woodford Bridge Road - opposite the PDSA (Post code IG5 4PS).

Route - Along Woodford Bridge Road towards Woodford Avenue where we turn left down to Roding Lane South and left again until the start point.

Distance is 2.0km (1 and a quarter mile).which should take no more than half an hour to complete at a leisurely pace.

 

Nearest bus stops:

Route 366 ends on Roding Lane South about 100m from start point.

Routes 123 & 179 stop stop on Woodford Avenue/Roding Lane South junction about 400m from start point.

Route 128 ends on Clayhall Avenue about 700m from start point.
