Consultation on Council’s Homelessness Strategy
The council has been working over the summer on producing a new Homelessness Strategy which was approved by Cabinet on 13 November 2018.
The formal consultation is now live online via the council’s website where you will also find the draft Strategy:
https://engagement.redbridge.gov.uk/housing/homelessness-strategy/
The draft Strategy sets out the council’s intended approach to addressing homelessness in the Borough, and builds upon the review that took place over the summer period. This is outlined further in the appendices to the draft– the evidence base, the organisations involved in tackling homelessness, and the key issues identified during the informal consultation with internal and external stakeholders in the summer.
The aim for the Strategy is: “The council and its partners working collaboratively to prevent and reduce homelessness and to proactively end rough sleeping.”
The consultation is live until Friday 22nd February 2019 and you are welcome to share the link with local constituents and stakeholders. We would encourage any interested persons to respond to the consultation sooner to enable time to draft the final Strategy and consultation report for the Cabinet meeting in March 2019.
