What We Do

Redbridge Faith Forum is a registered charity that seeks to bring together people of different religious faiths and none to promote respect co-operation and understanding.  Opportunities for inter-faith dialogue are provided through events and activities including:  Open Forums, Multi-Faith Walk of Peace, Visits to Places of Worship, Inter-faith meals, and Partnership Work with other voluntary sector organisations to advance the education of all residents, raise social and community issues affecting all, and encourage civic participation.  Events are open to all ages and the charity is keen to work with schools to promote tolerance, understanding and equal opportunities.  Our latest Annual Report is available here.

Redbridge Faith Forum publishes a monthly e-news bulletin which is gives information about faith festivals and many local and London wide events. The most recent e-news bulletin is available by clicking herehere. All details of Redbridge Faith Forum’s past events are available by clicking on the appropriate year below but recent events have featured workshops and Open Forums on: mental wellbeing – raising awareness of mental ill-health in our communities, workshops on community safety in partnership with local safer neighbourhood teams, network meetings on rough sleepers & homelessness and palliative care and end of life care support.

Redbridge Faith Forum has developed a thriving women’s group which enable women from different faiths to have healthy discussions on a range of topics of mutual interest that will help overcome ignorance, prejudice and cross barriers  The group brings women together across faith to gain the confidence and skills to bridge and link into different cultures.  The workshops continue to be hosted in the meeting spaces of different faith community buildings. Trust has been built to make these safe, shared spaces for women to meet together and discuss openly various topics.

RFF has a Board of Trustees made up of faith practitioners from all of the main religions represented in the Borough.  Trustees are very active on many statutory and community boards and committees and contribute to other voluntary sector events.

These currently include

  • Redbridge Safer Neighbourhood Board
  • The Redbridge Compact
  • Redbridge CVS
  • The Redbridge Dementia Partnership
  • Local Area Forums
  • Local Safeguarding Children’s Board
  • Community Tension

They also regularly contribute to public consultations from statutory bodies such as Department of Health and London Borough of Redbridge.

Further opportunities for inter-faith dialogue are provided by Redbridge Faith Forum’s popular Annual Walk of Faith which incorporates visits to various places of worship and the Interfaith Evening Meals.  The most recent Walk took place on Sunday 10th September 2017 – click here for details.
