Following a very successful Women’s workshop on 11th December 2013 attended by nearly 30 women, the RFF warmly invites you and your friends and colleagues to the next Women’s Interfaith workshop as follows:
“An interfaith perspective of what happens after we die”
5th February 2014, 1.30pm – 3.30pm, (please note earlier time)
Qur’ani Murkuz Trust : 10-14 Mulberry Way, London E18 1ED
Getting there by public transport: travelling from Ilford take bus 179, alight stop E or D next to South Woodford Tube station. You have arrived. The Mosque is very nearby, opposite the dry cleaners.
Getting there by car: From Woodford Avenue turn left at Charlie Brown’ Roundabout then turn right into George Lane from Hermon Hill and follow the one way system. The Mosque is on left just before the viaduct. A paying car park is at the back of the Mosque.
The general aims of the workshops are to:
– Create an ongoing interfaith women’s group, meeting in Redbridge, which builds community across faith boundaries
– Promote and strengthen interfaith collaboration
– Create a process of dialogue with women, which will strengthen communication between faith communities and enable women from different faiths to have healthy discussions on a range of topics of mutual interest, helping to overcome ignorance, prejudice and cross barriers.
In an attitude of understanding, respect and tolerance, we will explore each other’s belief regarding what happens when we die. Do we simply stop existing? Do we go to another place? Is there life after death? If yes, is it a different sort of life or a rebirth into our human plane? Come and share the teachings of your religions, your beliefs, your testimonies and your opinion in a space where open mindedness and the research of mutual understanding are paramount.
We usually incorporate into the programme a short, 10-minute presentation on one of the faith communities; however the discussion promises to be full and animated, with so many people having thoughts to offer that we have decided to allocate all discussion time to the topic.
Women present at our first workshop, proposed a voluntary contribution of £3 to help towards the running cost of the workshop.
